How does one do efficient out of bounds checking for 16x16 boards? Which part
of the 16x16 board actually contains the real 8x8 board?

Christophe posted something hinting that he might use 16x16 boards quite a while
ago, and said something about how it's easy to detect if a square is in a corner
or in the center on a 16x16 board. Can anyone explain the 16x16 board?
(Christophe maybe, if it's not a trade secret?)

Thanks for any explanations.

Travers
