To me it seems more than obvious that you shouldnt test with pondering on on 1
machine. Not only are cpu cycles wasted as Tony Werten calculated, you also dont
know whether both machines get 50%.

It is also more than obvious that with 2 machines both programs should play
better with pondering on.

So obviously your "tests" were flawed. I hope we dont need to discuss this any
further.
