", but >"why should." You are right, I answered the "why would". Why should? For me, because it is easy. My engine just uses about 30% less time with ponder off. "tuning" sounds much too sophisticated for this. However, I think more sophistication would not buy much here. One could also ask: "Why should he not". Perhaps to make testing for those other engine authors without duals or 2 computers more complicated? :-) Regards, Dieter
