The cost of development of any device comparable to a modern microprocessor "chip" would be the same as the cost of the microprocessor [to the first order of magnitude]. But the market would be much much smaller, so the cost per customer would be very high. We need to get someone like Bill Gates hooked on chess! Then he might develop the "chess chip" for free! Bob D.
