If the Hammer line makes something with huge cache like the Intel Xeon, then it might be competitive. Eugene's benchmark of a 2 CPU AMD system showed a 40% gain for the second CPU. 60% loss is a bit disappointing. With the Xeon that Bob uses, there is a very tiny SMP loss of only a few percent.
