Hmm, it's hard to give details, but Tascbase once made a very
good tutorial based on a Dutch series of chess books. IMHO
they were excellent for beginners, with good tactical and some
positional training.

I believe this tutorial was once sold together with Chessica,
but that was a Dutch version I suspect. I think that the USCF
once sold some kind of 'USCF Chessprogram' which featured some
basic chessengine and (much more valuable :) the Tascbase tutorial
translated in English.

I don't remember the details, but this might be enough to track
it down. I don't know of any other good chess-teaching software.
