I notice you like posting a lot about AMD things ... AMD is a toy of Intels ... AMD has a good product ... but when making cpu's the cost is basically the same ...that same Itanium2 chip cost the same to make once production is going as an 486 25mhz chip. Intel has too much money and FAB's to ever totally get dominated in the cpu market ... even when AMD might have a better product .. its bringing that chip to market on such small technology is the problem. Yields are not high and not very many FAB's ... its almost impossible keep up without a lot of production fabs ... So basically what I am trying to say in a round about way is No matter what AMD comes out with Intel has a chip that is better .. and if they want to make a price cut they can .... the Itanium chip with the shrink ( not the recently talked about Itanium2) but the latest one that came out. Can be lowered in price to compete with anything AMD has ... also inel is reserving the option of making those Itanium chips 32 bits ... I some what feel sorry for AMD ... they are taking huge loses ...the price war is too low for them to make a profit. Intel makes up their price cuts by putting more chips out on the market ( so they basically sell more at a lower price)and basically makes the price cuts but because of limited fabs they can flood the market with cpu's ... In a nutshell ... He that gets to the market first with the most cpu's win's (sorry if i drifted a bit)
