What does a single processor 1GHz machine run Crafty at? 500 Knps? There's your evidence, and the 64-bit cpu's are still having a lot of the bugginess worked out, so it could potentially get better. Not to mention when the actual speeds of the processor go up. Of course, 64-bit isn't going to make all programs faster. It's only going to benefit those programs that rely heavily on 64-bit operations, which is what Crafty does. Russell
