I simply gues he is testing what are the best knowledge settings You could experiment with this yourself if you own Rebel Century4. ok i will tell something of the experiments I had Something I already was doing after Thorsten mentioned about his personelety setting. Some bugs of Rebel will stay no mather how you put them with bugs I mean the understanding of good and bad pawn positions especialy doubled pawns. this can be slightly solved by putting the valeu of passed pawns and pawnstructure to 106 but is still far from perfect this also has nothing to do with the positional knowledge and serach methodes wich you have to enter with edit or notepad At the moment i have a setting which is not as fast in ply but ahead in simple tactics. The trouble with this seting is if there is a verry tactical position it will slowdown extremely about 8 plys is as deep as it gets. later on i made it instead of using deep search nulmove search to overcome this But many of the good things get lost then too. It many times starts to screw up in the end of the game While having a clear advantage. I actualy found out that Rebels main problem is the early endgame. I mean when the transposition from middle to end game just started using the knowledge setting for this does not help fully But it does help a bit. But i could not make the program play in the style I wanted though prety close to it. I also have to say that the exeperiment does not work in the way what you see is what you get. Just like it was not with rebel Century3 Regards Marc van Hal
