What a development! It turns out that neither Lunsen nor "The Fritz People" were at fault. Amazing. What did we learn from this? Imagine Faber's feelings when he discovered that the "Wonderful Free New Lunsen Book" he thought he had received was just a copy of Fritz PowerBook2000. He must have been both very disappointed and very frustrated. Rightfully and appropriately he posted his findings here on this bulletin board, so that everybody could check for themselves to see if the same thing had happened to them. But Faber messed up, a fact he recognizes and apologized for. He did the natural thing. He "assumed" that Lunsen had done something inproper. He then actually said that on this public bulletin board. That was a "no-no." But it didn't end there. Many people picked up on the idea and Lunsen was soon being roasted badly by everybody. I didn't help a bit. I suggested that either Lunsen had plagerized or Chessbase had plagerized. That was a dumb thing for me to say! I was no better than Faber. Now we learn that nobody plagerized anything. There were no "bad guys." Fredriksen had inadvertently and unknowingly made a simple mistake. Noone deserved any blame. No, not even Fredriksen. What a mess! To make matters much worse, someone then decides to BLAST Faber, accusing him of malicious intent to destroy Lunsen's reputation. That accusation was just as outlandishly inappropriate as any of the others. There is absolutely no evidence at all to support the contention that Faber did anything of the sort. Now we all sit with egg on our faces. Did we learn anything? Maybe, when we all get our copies of the Lunsen book, we will all be smiling again.
