I think if you game Fritz as much time as i have on test sets you would be suprised. There are a a few that aren't solved because they are incorrect and there are those that have been deemed to be incorrect but need like 25Ply to see that the actual move was better. Tactics Marathon 1259 - ECM.321 [D] rnb2rk1/pp2bppp/2p5/q7/4NN2/4B1QP/PPP3P1/2KR3R w KQkq - 0 1 Analysis by Fritz 7: 1.Nd5! ± (0.88) Depth: 7/22 00:00:00 127kN 1.Nd5 cxd5 2.Bh6 g6 3.Qe5 Bg5+ ± (1.00) Depth: 7/22 00:00:00 150kN 1.Nd5! ± (1.28) Depth: 8/24 00:00:00 337kN 1.Nd5 Bh4 2.Nef6+ Bxf6 3.Nxf6+ Kh8 4.Qd6 Nd7 5.Nxd7 Bxd7 6.Qxd7 Qxa2 7.c3 Rae8 ± (1.16) Depth: 9/26 00:00:01 803kN Rd5 is better and i will stick to my guns on this one 1.Rd5 Qc7 2.Rd3 Na6 3. Bd4 g6 4. Nf6+ +/- 1.31/16 34:51 Bxf6 5. Bxf6 Nb4 +- 3.00/16 23:43 That's why i think it would take 25Ply to solve. compared with : 1.Nd5 cxd5 2. Bh6 Bg4 3. Qxg4 g6 4.Bxf8 here it get's tricky, you have f5! Bxf8 or Kxf8 f5 put's up the most resistance and Rd5 allows less counterplay. But what do i know i am a low rated player
