Point 1: Much persons in this forum search information about computer chess. Persons from countrys where the people have no money for this hobby. Now this group of persons get this mail from ICD operators. The ICD fan must look and must see all the interesting things which your are for sell. Point 2: A person have a membership because he will switch information about computer chess. A person have not a membershop for buy software or other products as main reason. How many persons are here which buy products in ICD? Do you mean that this forum used only customers from ICD? Point 3: If I get a message with the context "Shopping time" is this for me "Spam" if I have a membership. My interest are this forum and not "Shopping time". Point 4: I help in the past comercial firms with different things. Do you think that is the right way if I used my adress book for messages about commercial products? Example: A review or other things for this firms. I used adresses from webmaster if I have a message about freeware which is important for me. But freeware is not to compare with commercial chess. Point 5: ICD have this forum and a webpage and for sure much other possiblitys. For me are such information only important for webpages or this forum but a mail to members? I know that ICD made / make a good work. This is not my point of view, Steve. My main reason is: What do you think what other persons from other organizations make if this group of persons see that ICD with a big group of members send such mails. Please thinking about my points! I hope my English is good enough! Best Frank
