Go up one level in this thread

It is not necessary for anyone to demean him for his opinions. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think what it comes down to is a cultural difference. There is also the language barrier for Frank since English is not his strong point. But to set the record straight... We have sent out 5 emails to CCC members in the last 30 months. For those who are math challenged, that's one every 6 months) If you received more than 5 emails from us since January 1, 2000, then you are also on one of our other mailing lists (probably as a customer or guestbook signer). Each email had an unsubscribe link, and every request to unsubscribe was honored (at least as far as we can tell since it is automated). We also set up a link here and both emailed all members and posted on the board that you could opt off the emailing list by just clicking "No". I have every intention of doing future mailings to this group. So, if you would rather not hear about new product or special sales or promotions of one kind or another, PLEASE use this link and get yourself off the list by clicking next to no under "Change E-mail Status" : http://www.talkchess.com/forums/edit.html If you opt off the list, our mailings will be like the proverbial tree falling in China, and if you do not opt off (or are so intrigued by this whole thread that you reverse and opt on) you can expect to get an infrequent emailing whenever we feel we have something special to offer. We can debate Spam till the cows come home, but my company is just not like all the other companies that could not care less about customers as long as they can get them to spend money. I do not believe the saying that "negative publicity is better than no publicity at all". I do not want to send any emails to anyone who does not want to receive them. But unless I send one and the customer says "remove", I do not know that. But no need to yell at Frank. It's an interesting dilemma, and reasoned discussion is far better than throwing insults.
