What Steve did is create a narrowly targeted commercial mailing list. And if you are not interested you can unsubscribe. He is not polluting the internet with mass mailings that 99.999+% of the readers could care less about. He wants to have a list of people who want to be on his list. Spammers could care less who is on their list, onnoixiously spreading their message as far as they can. What Steve did is just good business. If people complain too loudly about someone who is doing us all a service, and doing it very well and very unobtrusively, then I fear we will lose this forum, which would be a great loss. Of course people who don't like it here can always go to rec.games.chess.computers. Have fun :-) -R
