I loaded fritz7 from original cd (of course) and when it advised a download upgrade was available I got a "download error". I have different Provider. I deleted my dsl account, and now am with NetZero. Is any of this the problem ? The conditions you list above undoubtedly are the reason you have no answers. You changed your OS, your ISP, and had a failed update, all at once. I doubt anyone else has that exact same situation. Here's mine, FWIW: I just updated my Fritz7 this week (finally!) and my OS is win2k. I received the update file from the (DE) server and got it with no announced errors - and the update file wouldn't run (error: that file is not a valid Win32 application). Went back to the Chessbase download site, chose the US server this time, and the file took much longer to download. Now the file ran fine, no errors - and Fritz7 is now updated. From reading CCC, failed upgrade attempts for Fritz7 are not uncommon - just try again and it should work. File size for Fritz7upgrade.exe is 5711kb with a date of 6/26/2002. Good luck, David
