Alvaro, The full detail is too much to include here. I would recommend that you acquire from the Int. Computer Chess Association, soon to be the Int. Computer Games Assoc. I think, the following back copies of the ICCA Journal. http://www.cs.unimaas.nl/icca/backissu.htm indicates how to order. The earlier issues may be going 'out of stock' now. The ICCA_J probably carries, by a long way, the best sequence of articles on EGT(B)-generation, so I'll restrict my choice here to: v9.3 (1986) K.Thompson "Retrograde Analysis of Certain Endgames" v19.4 (1996) K.Thompson "6-Piece Endgames" v22.4 (1999) Nalimov/Wirth/Haworth "KQQKQQ and the Kasparov-World Game" v24.3 (2001) R.Wu & D.F. Beal "Fast, memory-efficient Retrograde Algorithms" These focus on the method rather than just the results. KT(96) particularly helpfully indicates how you can get it wrong by misconceiving the algorithm. I hope this helps. Guy
