Fritz and Junior are available in multiprocessor versions. See http://www.chessbaseusa.com/Fritz%20products.htm. Re single processors. According to anandtech.com, the 2.53GHz P4 with RDRAM appears to be faster than currently available Athlon processors for many applications. See http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1615. However the AMD chips are cheaper and have good performance for the $$$. Another data point: I have compared a 1.8GHz Intel P4 Xeon with a 1.4GHz Athlon and the P4 is a little faster for chess applications. --Jon
