A related story:

Originally Sjeng was developed and tested solely on Linux. On each
release, I would get dozens of requests for a Windows build. After
a while, I started doing Windows builds for each release. A little
while later, I put out a new version with only a Windows binary
because I happened to have done the last testing on Windows. I never
got a single complaint or request for a Linux version. I haven't
released any Linux versions since, even though I still develop on
Linux.

And you're the first person to vaguely 'complain' about it after
all those time.

I concluded making Linux versions just isn't worth the hassle.

Yes. I wish more commercials supported either UCI or WinBoard protocol.
Currently, only Gandalf does.

If I buy Tiger from Rebel, I can't use it under ChessBase (or WinBoard).

This is annoying, because I paid for the engine but I am severely limited
in my use of it.

Christophe, would you consider making the next Tiger UCI or WinBoard
compatible?
