I don't think that nothing will come out of it. As Keith mentioned in another
reply, someone could develop a new techniques for using larger systems. When I
say it's "meaningless", I mean that if Diep wins and it's hardware is
ridiculously faster than anyone else's, it doesn't mean that Diep is a better
chess engine.

If Diep loses, all that will tell us is that it either isn't very good, or it's
extra hardware didn't help it. It might also mean that we overestimate the
importance of extra hardware.

I think it would be funny if the 1024 processor machine only ran Diep about 4x
as fast. Surely diminishing returns take over at some point.
