My first win against Rebel 8.0 In well over 50 games at 40/2hrs!! This Game shows that Even your best programs like Rebel still have some problems that needs to be solved. 5.Bb5?? was horrible and In my opinion the losing move. Processor was a 486/100 dx4 time control 40/2hrs my uscf rating was 1937 Touch move strictly observed!! It was the very first time I had beaten rebel 8.0 in over 50 games at 40/2hrs 2. I hope that Ed Schroeder may happen to see it and productively use it to make corrections to his program. I might add that I think rebel is an excellent program and in my opinion it plays the most correct Chess, I like the way it balances tactical play with a nice strategical style. Inspite of this however it still possess some positional flaws as this game illustrates 5. BB5 was obviously bad. My strategy during the game was to take rebel out of it's massive opening book as soon as possible by making a reasonable non-book move and hope that rebel might make some strategical mistake that I could capitalize on, as it turned out this strategy worked to perfection in the above game. My uscf rating at the time was 1937 the processor is a 486/100 dx4 , time control was 40/2hrs.
