It's based on the processor. In other words, since I have both linux and windows installed, when I'm running windows the processor doesn't have any idea that I'm running "windows machine instructions" or "linux machine instructions". The machine only understands it's own instructions. As far as I know the OS has nothing to do with it. Russell
