Subject: os and engine performance

Hi everyone,

I thought it would be good if we had a thread where you can post your
experiences with different operating systems and the kind of performance chess
engines showed.

I am particularly interested in finding out if there is any difference in the
performance of a program on windows 2000 professional compared to the same
engine running on windows 2000 server, advanced server, etc.

Also, what compilers/options do you use on your programs?
