When this all started, 90% of the competition was in the USA and Canada. However, since the ICCA (really the ECCA nowadays) has chosen to hold WCCC events in Europe exclusively after 1989 in Canada, is it any big surprise that interest over here has waned a bit...\ That was the _reason_ for the ICCA's creation... to "foster computer chess development around the world." But it has become "foster computer chess development in Europe". Ah well... I'm going to continue to support ICC tournaments and hope that those eventually replace the ICCA since they are far more "international" in flavor than what the ICCA has been doing in recent years...
