Since the ICCA charter _does_ state that the event is to be held on opposite sides of the world every three years, I would like to start the planning now for the next one to be held in North America. Even better to return to my home town of Edmonton where the event was a great success. Since this topic started early today I have took it upon myself to ask some people that I know the computer industry here if their company's would sponsor an event like this. I recieved an overwhelming response. In fact one group wanted to know if an event could be held as soon as November or December this year. Getting a computer sponsor would not be hard, and as for lodging there is plenty. To see how much interest this would be I will be contacting the group that runs the large exposition yearly here called Klondike Days to see if I can get a booth to run programs and show how well computers can play. So what I would like is to know _exactly_ what steps I would have to take to bring the event over to North America for the next event. Can anyone answer some of these questions? 1. Does the ICCA require some sort of payment for holding the event? 2. Do I _have_ to even go through the ICCA to get the event recongized? 3. Do you really think that European programmers would attend? 4. Does the event _really_ need an entrance fee? Where does that money go anyway? 5. Would there be anyone willing to help me bring the event here? Any other questions I have will certainly be posted here.. and please any answers would be greatly appreciated. Kevin
