Even if computer programs ever reach a state where they always beat a GM, there
will still be big sponsorships with big money, because people like to see
people.  If a robot were invented that could kick everyones ass at boxing, do
you think this would put every boxer out of business?  Do you think that people
would pay to see the robot fight other robots?  Of course not.  The element of
the human spirit and competition would be missing.

This is insane.  Chess is more than the best moves, it is the drama and
emotions.

This will never happen.  The GM will never become obsolete.
