On dual CPU's, Shredder seems to be winning the WCCC right now (ahead of Fritz, code-named "Quest"). Chrilly Donninger's "Brutus" also seems to be ahead of Fritz, and specifically something VERY cutting edge and exciting for the commercial computer chess scene. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Ed Schroeder is in the final prep stages for his Windows compatible Century release, which everyone is intensely curious about, and a dark horse might be found in the new release of ChessMaster 9000 in a couple months. John Merlino has been posting up some wonderful solution times to positional problems posted herein, with CM9000, all on a modest PIII at 600Mhz, IIRC. AND let's not forget that Sjeng and Warp (and undoubtedly more), are within a hair's breadth of Quest (Fritz) in the WCCC. Sjeng having had a rather tougher draw of opponents than many programs. Just over the horizon, I see Vincent so ticked from the bugs hurting Diep's performance at the WCCC, that he'll be working like crazy to get Diep as strong as possible, as quickly as possible. David
