Fot it's time Genius 3 was without question the strongest program available for the PC , second was Fritz 3 IMO. It is still very strong on today's machines, but I don't think it would win a match against a program like Tiger or Shredder. Something happen between G3 and G5 and I 'm not sure if the engine really improved. G2 and G3 were pretty close - G1 was relatively weaker.
