Simple: The King 2.55 within CM 5500 is simply one of the best around, especially if you use the Walter-Pilz settings plus the special piece values suggested by Harald Faber and myself. Fritz is about the same strength (lost a 40/120 series 6,5:7,5), as are Nimzo (lost 5,5:6,5 against Fritz) and Junior (lost 4,5:5,5 to CM). *** Check Shep's Computer Chess Site tomorrow (Friday) after about 1100 CET. I will have updated my big Game Database (now over 580 games recorded) with performance statistics for CM 5555 (to tell the most important news, its percentage is only surpassed by Fritz 5.01). Note however, that these are not all 40/120 games, but also rapid and blitz games. --- Shep
