Hi John,
yes and no.
yes. meaning if you keep beating those computers on icc or fics, etc. your
rating can go higher up to GM. on those chess servers.
no. if you want to become rated as fide master, national master higher, you'll
have to join otb tournaments vs humans.
i dont think they recognize fics, icc given ratings.
guess even your friend had to join a human vs human tournament to get his 2265
rate.
but if your question is
"if i keep on playing vs computers, will my chess ability become better
than what i am now?'
the answer is a definite Yes.
