Like the SSDF Elo case details, people also don't know in general that the extra counting systems, Sonneborn-Berger or other, are only important for two participants with same points. Only then the difference between them in the extra system allows it to seperate them. But it makes no sense at all to take the first and the last and then compare their points in the extra system. For laymen this is as if the extra system could _replace_ the normal ranking by _results_. Of course, they could argue that in a Swiss it's not always fair or equally balanced. But this is known since long. The extra systems are special tools to make it a bit better balanced in case two have the same results, then the extra system answers who of the two has had the better opponents and this participant will be placed before the other. If this is already difficult we must accept that discussions with _words_ and out of different languages are really difficult.
