Mr. Nemeth likely publishes only his successes and there is no telling how many games he may have lost in developing some of his winning lines. Then, too, the games he publishes are mostly at game/30 or faster on his 600mhz machine. So he has the advantage of playing with hours of thinking time, in effect, against a program who cannot learn and memorize lines and is not doing a real deep search. Some of the newest programs seem to be getting a little better at this, too. I noticed Mr. Nemeth recently published a series of draws, not wins, against Fritz 7.007 or 7.008. Again, on a 600mhz computer at fast speeds. I do not think he would have much success against the current newest versions of the top progs at game/60 or game/120 playing on a 1.3 ghz computer or so. Mr. Nemeth has clearly demonstrated computer weaknesses though and probably programmers are making the necessary improvements. He has developed his anti-comp techniques into a very interesting continuing story... eric
