I think it was more of a disaster for computer-chess. Today whenever you talk to
someone about computer chess, he strangely looks at you and says: "Computers
have proven themselves to be better than humans, so what's the point now?!"

And about DEEP BLUE, I buy every word Kasparov says about them and their
tricks... Their "retiring" of DEEP BLUE looks like someone cheating in a poker
game and rapidly taking the money before someone notices the trick, and saying:
"That's it, I won, good evening..."
