In the main Chess Assistant directory you should find a DOC file detailing the
numerous changes brought with the free upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1. I'm afraid I
have not experimented with it so I cannot help you other than to say its
purpose. I have however forwarded your request to Chess Assistant Support.

Minimax is pretty much exactly what backsolving in BookUp is. It takes the
values of evaluations at the end of a line and then forwards this to the first
moves so that you know what the best outcome you can expect for a given line.
i.e. If a move can lead to several lines, each with different evaluations, it
will always show the worst possible evaluation so that you know what you will
get if the opponent plays the best (known) moves. Naturally one can edit these
evaluations or add new moves, lines and evaluations directly in the trees in CA,
but that's old news.
