If you're going to have an opening book rule, I think it would be more interesting to require everyone to use the same book, perhaps the Lunsen book, or no book at all, to avoid killer books. Then it would be engine vs. engine, with the luck of the random opening draw thrown in. But see if you can get the CBC to cover it, and have them throw in a prize fund. Then you'll get them to come.
