Hello: The Rules about the Opening Books in the last program have been a way to solve the problem of the non ethic problem about the use of "Professional Books" on some Chess Authors Behalf. The Kure Opening Book has been a big work on his behalf for the Fritz, Brutus and Nimzo programs. If another chess program wants to use such Book, the Author should contact the Book Creator of the mentioned programs in order to get his permission. I have been working in a Diep Book for one year. I have realized how it is hard to tune an opening book for a chess program. I began to create Chess Random Books in 2001. Some of these books can be found at the Corbit's FTP. This task is not so difficult because you are generating a book from a pgn file. In August 2001, I began to work with Vincent Diepeveen and I had to create an opening book by hand. It is not easy and it involves the investigation in many sources: On fact, my Chess Library is almost a complete room since I am working with Diep. In this sense, knowing how hard is this work, I agree with Jeroen Noomen about the use of his opening books without authorization. I haven't seen Chess Authors far from Leiden or WMCCC (Maastricht) 2002 because of the Opening Book Rules. With a clean competition, the success of this Tournament is more feasible. And it is important to began with the right foot in this first American Competition. Regards, Arturo Ochoa.
