Funny how you mention his name here as he was just in an article in the
newspaper here in Edmonton last week. I knew Peter and I must say that whole
fiasco with Pete Galati saddened me. Let me shed a little light on the character
of Peter Skinner. Then you might see why he not also left this club, he also
trashed plans to hold this very tournament 2 years ago in which he had immense
sponsorship and organization.

Peter Skinner was just mentioned in the Edmonton Sun ( local newspaper ) last
week as he is recieving a Certificate of Commendation from the Governor General
of Canada for saving three people's lives in a house fire in June of 1999. In
2001 he recieved a Bronze Medal of Bravery for the same incident. In fact
incident he was severely hurt himself after saving the second person yet found
the courage to go back into a burning house and save two little kid's mother
that was trapped in a second floor bedroom. Both the medal and the certificate
are two of the highest honors a civilian can attain in Canada and are seen in
the outmost respect.

In June of 2000 during the Christmas season, The Edmonton Food Bank was having
an incredible time getting donations. Peter took it upon himself to stage 13
events over a 6 week period to bring in donations. He not only was able to help
meet their food target goals he was also able to raise $40,000 to help children
in poverty. To which he donated another $20,000 of his own money to. Peter often
is on commitees here in Edmonton with respect to helping those in need. If you
were to mention the incident to people here in Edmonton in regards to Pete
Galati you would be first laughed at then probably sent packing. He is _very_
respected here.

Peter was also a very high ranking person in Telus Communications here in
Edmonton before accepting a position in a company here that specializes in
helping individuals with developemental problems. Since then he has helped open
11 "foundations" that help care for these people.

He threw away a job that had to be paying him atleast 6 figures to help people
with down syndrome and alcohol fetal disorders as he went through school at a
young age to become a certified Rehabilitation Practitioner. At the time of the
Galati incident Peter was in his position with Telus and I SERIOUSLY do not
think $300 was something that would have concerned him. To Pete Galati this was
not the case.

At the time there was some dispute if Pete ever recieved a computer that
Mr.Skinner sent to him via FedEX. Mr.Skinner offered to show proof to people
that he did in fact sent it and I was one of those people as I lived here. I
believe he also showed the author of Faile, Adrien Regimbauld ( Sorry if I
spelled that incorrectly ). What I saw was a FedEX tracking slip, about 30
emails between himself and Mr.Galati and finally papers he obtained on how to
bring this into a criminal matter against Mr.Galati and a civil suit for
slander.

Once he threatened to not only get the police involved and a civil suit I find
it odd that Mr.Galati stopped the whole incident flat footed.

So please when you speak of Mr.Skinner here or in the tournament in Edmonton if
it gets held, you better had speak kindly. The man is nearly a legend here for
what _he_ has done for people.

If Peter was the one getting this event held it _would_ happen without question.
He would not have the problems I am going to face to get sponsors to cough up
money. I have to beg, he would only need to ask. That is how respected he is
here.

Maybe I have shed a little bit of light on the character of Peter Skinner, maybe
not. I have nothing but the highest amount of respect for this man. I think you
should to. So please do _not_ cut him down. I will for one not tolerate it. One
a side note...

As you notice Peter does not post here due to one person. I know you must be
thinking due to Pete Galati. Wrong.

He does not post here anymore due to Christophe Theron. I don't know the whole
details why but what I do know is Peter respected him _immensely_, but when
Christophe turned on Peter during the whole Galati incident he never came on
here again and doesn't follow this board. I know he does still follow the
developement of Crafty because of the utmost respect he has for Robert Hyatt.

If anyone wishes to contact Mr.Skinner I am sure he would love to hear from a
few people here. If you would like to, I believe his email address is
peterskinner@shaw.ca or peter_skinner@telusplanet.net. You can try either.

I would ask him to help organize this event but I think with his name as it
stands here it would only hurt the event in the way of people attending.
Certainly it would _help_ in getting the sponsorship we would need.

Kevin.
