No doubt about it, there is no comparison when it comes to price. AMD wins 1000x fold. The comparison with Crafty is *arguable*. There are too many people compiling it, using different compilers. The Chessbase tests are good though, because they only come one way. You cannot make it faster or slower. However, I will say this; Crafty 18.15 compiled using MSVC++ 6.0 is about 10% faster on a P4 2.53Ghz than on my AMD 1.73Ghz. However, it's no secret that is not the fastest "compile" of Crafty.
