I would think that once computers are clearly the best in chess more interest would spark in computer chess. Now the best you can hope for is being the best computer chess program in the world but when a computer is the champion you could have hopes of creating the best chess ever played. Of course lots of people speculate that when computer finnally does win the championship it will kill some entusiasm in peole for chess (which would dampen entusiasm in this aspect of the game as well no doubt)and this may be true. But I think my interest in computer chess will go up. For example I would like to see if certain openings start to lead to loses so frequently that new busts are developed etc. Of course computers won't be able to take chess to a whole new level until they can win at correspondence chess. When they do that though I think everyone will take more interest in how they play the game.
