Here is a perfectly legal game that was played in the Politiken Cup just a few days ago: (1) Dominguez,L (2613) - Nilsson,N (2187) [B07] Politiken Cup Copenhagen (2), 16.07.2002 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Sf6 3.Sc3 c6 4.f3 Sbd7 5.Le3 b5 6.Dd2 b4 7.Sce2 a5 8.g4 Sb6 9.Sg3 La6 10.Lxa6 Txa6 11.Dd3 Ta8 12.0-0-0 e6 13.g5 Sfd7 14.f4 Le7 15.Sf3 Dc8 16.f5 Da6 17.Kb1 Dxd3 18.cxd3 0-0-0 19.Thf1 Kb7 20.Sd2 e5 21.h4 f6 22.Sf3 c5 23.d5 Tc8 24.Sh5 Thg8 25.b3 a4 26.Tg1 axb3 27.axb3 Ta8 28.g6 hxg6 29.fxg6 Ta3 30.Kb2 f5 31.exf5 Sxd5 32.Lg5 Lxg5 33.Sxg5 Sc3 34.Sxg7 Sxd1+ 35.Txd1 Sf6 36.h5 Tga8 37.Kc1 Ta2 38.Se4 Sd5 39.Se8 Th2 40.Td2 Th1+ 41.Td1 Ta1+ 42.Kd2 Taxd1+ 43.Ke2 Sf4+ 44.Kf2 Th2+ 45.Kg3 Tg2+ 0-1 You can also view the game by going to: http://www.dsu.dk/ny-par2/pol2002/poli01.htm Particularly, note the ratings of the players, and then the result. An upset, certainly. But, then, you may notice that 18...0-0-0 is an ILLEGAL MOVE and actually WAS played in the game; it is not an error. White apparently forgot that Black's a-rook had previous moved! I can tell you that if you tried to enter a PGN of this game into Chessmaster, it would not let you do so. However, strictly speaking, this IS a legal game! jm
