Only an attempt at a humouristic remark aimed towards the unrealistic and amateuristic attempt at staging one. It's amazing that so many swallowed the bait so easily when you consider the apparent lack of substance. Air fare, beer prices and school vacations before venue and sponsor. That seems ridiculous to the extreme. First framework and then content. That hasn't got anything to do with the negative adjectives added in your message. If experienced and competent people manages to stage an event, I would be more than happy to attend as a spectator, even pay extra for beer and scotch, no matter the location.
