I was in contact with Bruce Moreland on Friday night as someone emailed me from
this forum stating that a person named Kevin Strickland was posting a bunch of
items about me. Here is the email I sent Friday evening:

Mr. Moreland,
Let me clear up a few things that have been posted on the Computer Chess
Club by Kevin Strickland.
Some of what he has posted to the board is truth, but most of it is lies. I
will go into detail below.
- I have recieved a Bronze Medal of Bravery from the Royal Canadian Human
Association. On Jun 24, 1999 I saved a family from a house fire. On April 3,
2000 I recieved the medal. That is fact. I can provide a scanned image of the
medal and the letter I recieved stating I was to receive the award. You can also
contact Rudolf Berghuys an RCMP officer that handed me the medal.
- I am to recieve a Certificate of Commendation from the Governor General of
Canada. I do not know when I am to receive it from Mayor Bill Smith but I was
told his office would be contacting me. Again I can provide a scanned image of
the letter I recieved just two days ago. The lie in the matter is that it was
never in any paper here in the city that I am getting the award. I will explain
how he knows this information towards the end of this email.
- I NEVER and I seriously mean NEVER helped the Edmonton Food Bank through a
difficult season. The only time that I ever was at the food bank was when I
worked for the St.Albert Association for People with Disabilities. I worked
there as a client services worked and took clients out on their day programs.
That is the only time I was there, and it was work related. I want to be very
clear on this point.
- I also NEVER helped set up any foundations in Edmonton. That is not true. A
complete lie.
- I never earned a six figure salary with Telus. I never worked for Telus. I
worked as an operator with AGT. The telecomunications company that was bought
out by Telus. I left when they offered buy out packages. I took the package and
went on to better things. It was a dead end job.
- I do know Kevin. Do I like him as he states? Am I a good friend of his? No
bleeding way. He is someone that I wish to not have contact with at all but
unfortunately I have to. Again I will explain this later in this email.
- Can Kevin pull off an event in Edmonton? I am quite sure he could. He comes
from a wealthy family. He could support the event on his own.
- Have I left the CCC? No, in fact I still read the board frequently. I just do
not post.
Now let me shed some light on Kevin Strickland.
Kevin knows me through my ex-wife, but not as he states. He is actually the
reason that I am not married today.
My ex- wife and him had an affair while I was away on business. He tore my
family apart and has made my life a living hell for over a year. This is quite
personal but I feel that I have to say it because then you can get a true
picture of who Kevin is.
In November last year, 4 months after my wife and I split up Kevin became
very upset that my ex-wife and I were trying to smooth things over to just get
along. We spent an evening together with my two children during Halloween.
Everything went fine, dropped them off at home and went to where I reside. The
next morning my ex-wife attained a restraining order on me due to Kevin stating
after I left her home I went and found him at a local bar and beat the living
tar out of him. This order prevented my from seeing my kids for a little while
which disturbed me. I was able to remove the order a little under 2 weeks later
after it was slapped on me. During the removal of the order I was able to attain
a shared custody agreement where I was able to have my children from Sunday to
Tuesday every week. Everything was fine up until about 3 weeks ago.
Three weeks ago I petitioned the court to change my custody agreement to
allow me to have a 50-50 split in custody with my ex-wife. This was granted and
Kevin hit the roof. He showed up at my place of employment when I was getting
off work and started shouting that that reason I was no longer married was I
previously beat my wife and kids. Currently I am seeking a restraining order on
him as I don't think he is stable and I do not want him around my children. I am
sure you can understand why.
Apparently he posted that if someone wanted to contact me they would reach
me at this email address. Well a board member did and told me of the things that
he has posted to the board regarding myself. They also posted your's and a
couple other member's replies that I respect so I had to send a reply. Some of
what he has posted regarding my awards is true. Some of what he says is somewhat
true but let's just say extending the truth. Other's are just complete lies.
Now let me explain why I have not posted the receipts of the Galati
situation. I do not have them in my property anymore. They were left along with
other important papers that my ex-wife trashed. She was angry at the fact I
attained a custody order for my children and destroyed everything I had left in
storage in her basement. I wish I had the items in question so I could clear my
name. Unfortunately this is not the case thus the reason I no longer post on the
board.

I sent that email to be very clear on a few matters.
Kevin is by far my best friend. The only way he found out that I was getting the
award was I gave a photo copy of the letter I received from the Governor General
of Canada to my ex-wife in case the event was to take place on a day that I did
not have custody of my children. That is the only way he could possibly know
about it.
Someone stated that I am using his email address on the crafty-mailing list in
the posts I have read to date. That is not true. I use somnus@shaw.ca or
peterskinner@shaw.ca with my family members.
There was a post that he has an account on ICC with the name Somnus. This does
not surprise me as Somnus is what I was going to call the chess program that I
was starting in early 2000. I had asked Robert and Vincent and a few others in
regards to programming evaluations on this. I am sure one of them could back me
up. It also does not surprise me as I left my wife on of my computers and it has
stored passwords of mine in a program that stores such information. I no longer
have use of the account Azkikr/Lilkikr on FICS anymore as he has changed the
passwords. I have always operated the account Somnus on FICS. Therefore it does
not surprise me if he tried to piss people off using the same nick on ICC. I
also no longer have usage of all the webspace I had on the internet a few years
ago. I had a Crafty website up at one point to which he has since removed.
I can provide fact not fiction regarding any of the above information.
I can provide anyone here proof of the commendation I am about to get, or the
medal I received. I just wanted to point out that he can provide proof of
somethings that I have done but I can surely prove that I had nothing to do with
most of it.
I lead a very boring life these days. I basically work and take care of my
children when I have them in my custody. I do read the boards here when events
are taking place. I do not post here anymore though but I felt it was needed as
I can prove without a doubt that I am not him and he is not me. To say that I
hate Kevin is meaningless. His actions regarding my ex-wife tore someone away
from me that I deeply loved. My children have to deal with the man and I feel
sorry for them.
I am not into computer chess a great deal anymore although I do purchase
programs for my learning chess purposes.
Let the flames begin as I am sure they will. I will not however be replying to
any of them.
I am more than willing to prove that I do exist. I am not just some made up
person.

Hopefully then some of this nonesense will go away.
