Maybe you are using a weakened setting? Anyway do as follows:

Options -> Strongest settings

To check the engine: Press "ALT_F4" and Rebel will do a quick "system check" and
report if the engine is okay or not.

Also don't forget to have a decent hash table size, see the hints of the other
posters.
