friend, depends on how much you want to spend.i owned fritz 6 and then purchased fritz 7.the difference was real notable.i suspect that fritz 8 will be stronger than fritz 7,or i will be real disappionted.i haven't heard about a release date of fritz 8.so in answering your question how much do you want to spend.if you can afford them both ,then buy fritz 7 now and get the up-date/grade to fritz 8 when it comes out.i would think it would be something like when rebel 11 was out and they offered a free up-date later to ct14 later.hope that will help you.>>>>mike
