A serach of the Yahoo- Canada turned up two enail addresses with that nmae - you may try to reach directly at : dc755@freenet.carleton.ca korner@iosphere.net korner@netcom.ca if in fact those email addresses are accurate. He wrote a good bye speach on RGCC and it was a real good-bye. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=author:Komputer+author:Korner&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d&selm=ZwKC2.10211%24134.92052%40tor-nn1.netcom.ca&rnum=11 ================================================================================ "For reasons explained below this is the last you will see of me. The last tip for non masters is to study tactics. All sorts of tactics. Various GMs have said that chess is 95-97% tactics. To that end either get the book "The art of combination" by Postal GM M.V. Blokh or better yet buy the new program CTART 3.0 which I review at the CCC. The computer program is simply Blokh's book put into a program which rates your ability in tactics and gives multiple users an ELO rating which surprisingly closely corresponds to your real rating. Now for the reason why I have to leave the computer chess cybersphere. I am being downsized by my company at the age of 48 and have come to the realization that if I want to be able to survive until my retirement age of 60, I will have to go back to school in order to get another job. To this end I will attempt to learn programming languages in a commercial computer business school so I will have no time for computer chess. To everyone that helped me over the years, I say thanks again for your kind consideration and a special thanks to Bob Hyatt who is truly the Oracle of computer chess. Hope you finally write that book on computer chess Bob! I owe a thanks to all the programmers who let me beta test and review their programs and I hope I was able to help. To all the internet friends I met through cyberspace, I can only say that it was a blast (even Rolf was funny at times). Good luck to all of you and I know it is a very short time until the GMs cry for mercy from the micros even at 40/2. However that won't be the end of chess because computer computer events will take on more importance. So all you computer chess freaks will be in your glory. I may answer some questions on rgcc for a couple of weeks at the maximum but after that I will have to sign off from cyberspace, So Bye for now. -- -- Komputer Korner The inkompetent komputer To send email take the 1 out of my address.
