Subject: Crafty Tip - Lowering the playing strength.

The "newer" as Crafty have a "search certain number of nodes" feature that can
be set in the crafty.rc file. by using the "sn ###" command, where ### is the
number of nodes you want crafty to search.

Altough I haven't played rated chess in years, I believe my rating is somewhere
between 1600 and 1700.

I have found that using the "sn" command useful. I'm not sure what number of
nodes equal what elo - but if you're rated near the 1600 range - I would start
around 500 nodes or "sn 500" in your crafty.rc file and go up from there. It
will still pounce on the slightest mistake --so it's very good for tacital
training. The only downside is that it moves instantaneously - which is not
very realistic like.

Perhaps I can write a "response delay" feature that would delay Crafty's
repsonse but not perform any additional pondering that could be also be set in
the crafty.rc file.
