... but in the meantime I´ve solved this problem with the help of Martin Blume (programmer of ´Arena´) in a very simple but effective way: calling MS-DOS interrupt 21h (subfunction AX=0Bh) just returns, if there is anything in the standard input buffer ! (No threads or other mysterious things necessary - simply brilliant!) Regards, Franz.
