Hi John, You've confirmed that 1. Nc5! in the first position and 1. Nxf5! in the second are the correct moves. In both cases you've demonstrated better defences for Black than the human opponents played in the actual games. Although it is true that the test positions don't resolve down to crushing final eval scores, unique first moves are nice. Thanks, Jim
