If you use xboard, it will tell crafty it is playing a computer.  If you don't
use xboard, then the C list is the way to solve this, again assuming that the
interface will at least tell Crafty the name of the opponent...

The C list is really obsolete since Tim added support for all of this in
xboard several years ago...
