It seems that we are talking about slightly different things. You are right, it is not possible to start Hiarcs or cg5dos with bigh hash tables from an MS-DOS prompt window in W95. What I was trying to say was that it is possible to make shortcut icons on the desktop which enables you to start the programs with maximal hash tables. You have to edit the config.sys and autoexec.bat files for the two programs, and of course the computer has to restart in MS-DOS mode before running the program. Tord
