I think that the majority of people her will answer within the concepts of the computer languages that they have studied, however, there are a multitude of other languages out there that do not act like 'C' and the ones used here. Thak LISP or PROLOG or some of the other context sensitive languages and you will find that they for the most part do not respond to the regular ditigal type of programming that we are used to. (for those who program in those languages please do not jump on me yet). Using those higher languages along with fuzzy logic and/or neural networks those computers make decisions based upon facts or an abundance of facts reported in different ways. They can for example make a preliminary decision and later change their "minds" based upon new of different inputs. Some make estimated guesses and those extimates can change. The world of fuzzy logic, neural nets, and expert systems are way beyond what can be covered here, but if you are interested you might find it quite interesting to delve into. Bill
